Workbooks (online)
Please go back to your own parent portal if you don't remember the login and password for your child. This is an interactive program that I am able to create worksheets/workbooks for your child to have extra practice for the sounds we've been working on.
Red Word Practice
This is not the exact tool Ms. Tara will use, as she is going to make sure to only provide your child with new words (a few at a time each week). Your child will have a small red folder with their current red words to practice also, but if you wish to give them more practice, this is an option too (The red word cards that your child has will eventually have 7-10 check marks on the back of them before we will retire those cards and revisit them periodically).
You can use this powerpoint deck at home as extra practice/review. First glance only, they are not words to sound out, if your child struggles, that is okay, this will improve with time and practice.
Some call them sight words because they don't follow the sound rules of our language. We are going to start calling them red words, because red reminds us to "STOP"...stop sounding out since these words do NOT follow phonetic rules. They will eventually know these words by sight/memory.
